Legal Disputes (19th Century Onwards Till 1947): The first legal case over the site can be traced back to January 19, 1885, when the matter of access and rights of worship at the disputed site led to court proceedings. These early cases set the stage for the prolonged legal battles that would follow in the 20th and 21st centuries.
Incidentally, in the same year, 1885, the Congress Party was formed by a British Civil servant, A.O. Hume, along with prominent businesspeople. Was this planned? OR Providence, set by almighty God? As you will find in later chapters, the Congress Party becomes embroiled in this conflict.
As there is no documentation available on events from 1800 to 1850, we call it the slumber of about 50 years. Readers will continue to find such slumber or quiet periods when no event takes place, but the emotions and issues underneath continue to "boil."
The first documented attempt to free Ram Janmabhoomi was in 1853, then in 1855, and again in a fight leading to a Hindu victory against Ameer Ali in 1858. Post-fight, Britishers stepped in and drew the wall to divide the property. Listing multiple rounds of disputes in the 19th century AD and beyond till 1947.
